UM-Dearborn Announces Annual Awards at All-Sports Banquet

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn Department of Athletics and Recreation announced their annual awards at the 2024 All-Sports Banquet on Monday (Apr. 29). 13 individuals were honored for not only their athletic achievements but their success in the classroom in an event that saw over 350 people gathered inside the Fieldhouse. Highlighting the night was keynote speaker Kurt A. David, the author of multiple books and the host of From Glory Days, which features interviews with Hall of Fame and World Champion professional athletes and their transitions into life after pro sports. 

Each award will be listed below, along with a brief description and the recipients of each award. 

Wolverine Award

The Wolverine Award is presented to one female and one male student-athlete each year who achieved success in both the classroom and competition and had to persevere through a difficult situation while continuing to succeed in the classroom and demonstrating extraordinary spirit.

Female: Kielee Tondryk (Volleyball)

Male: Nolan Kelley (Lacrosse)

RUDY Award

The William "Rudy" Radulovich Award is given annually to two student-athletes who embody hard work, team spirit, and enthusiasm and serve as a memory of what Rudy demonstrated every day. This award was established by The Conrad Charitable Foundation to honor the memory of William "Rudy" Radulovich, who was the first Intramural Sports Director at the University of Michigan–Dearborn. Through his energy and leadership as Intramural Sports Director at UM-Dearborn, Rudy established an active sports and recreational program involving all segments of the campus. 

Female: Natalie Bicego (Women's Soccer)

Male: Jack Meyers (Lacrosse)

Newcomers of the Year

The Newcomer of the Year Award is given to a student-athlete competing in their first season at UM-
Dearborn who demonstrates strong athletic performance and strong effort in the classroom and
embodies the five Core Values of the NAIA, which are Integrity, Servant Leadership, Sportsmanship, Respect, and
Responsibility.

Female: Kenna Borso (Women's Ice Hockey)

Male: Jackson Reynolds (Men's Basketball) 

Coach of the Year (Voted by UM-Dearborn Head Coaches)

Carrie Sirola (Women's Ice Hockey)

Athletes of the Year

The Athlete of the Year Award is given to a student-athlete who demonstrates strong athletic
performance, and a strong effort in the classroom and embodies the five Core Values of the NAIA of
Integrity, Servant Leadership, Sportsmanship, Respect, and Responsibility.

Female: Samantha Sensoli (Women's Ice Hockey) 

Male: Joe Seibert

Chancellor's Award

The Chancellor's Award recipients must demonstrate distinguished leadership, high academic success, and extraordinary commitment to the community and to the university. 

Female: Brooke Wetherill (Volleyball)

Male: Joeseph Atherall (Lacrosse)

Robert L. Simpson and Bruce O. Bublitz SLAAM Scholarship

the annual Robert L. Simpson and Bruce O. Bublitz SLAAM Scholarship Awards, given to one male and one female student-athlete.  The award includes a one-year $1,500 scholarship to each recipient for the 2023-24 academic year. Recipients of these awards are recognized for their past and continued dedication and commitment as student-athletes at UM-Dearborn and beyond.

Male: Andrew Schwartz (Men's Soccer)
