DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team faced a tough battle against Cornerstone University on Wednesday (Sept. 25). Freshman Julia Tasker made an outstanding nine saves, but it just wasn't enough, as the Wolverines lost tonight's match 4-2.
Despite giving up two early goals, the Wolverines didn't count themselves out. Right before the end of the first half, sophomore Ruth Windeler fired a shot into the back of the net to make it 2-1. After halftime, Cornerstone scored two more quick goals, making the score 4-1.
Later in the second half sophomore Isabella Iacobacci finds one on a penalty kick keeping hope alive for the Wolverines, however it was just a little too late and Cornerstone kept control the rest of the game.
The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday (Sept. 28) against Madonna at home.
