Wolverines Defeat Yellow Jackets 5-1

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team collected a much-needed win on the road on Saturday (Oct. 12) against the Defiance College Yellow Jackets. The Wolverines took the contest 5-1 at Winsper-Knobel Field. 

Noah Carmona was a sparkplug for the Wolverines, scoring twice on the afternoon. Carmona scored in the 26th minute off an assist from Andrew Schwartz. Carmona followed that up in the 35th minute when he scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0. The Yellow Jackets trimmed the lead to one in the 47th minute, but it was all Wolverines the rest of the way. Mohammedbakker Ibrahim scored off Schwartz's second assist of the game in the 57th minute. Schwartz added his third point of the game in the 60th minute when he scored his team-leading sixth goal. Kaelan Wright scored the fifth and final goal in the 89th minute off of a Robert Nabulere assist. 

Elijah Burlak received the win as he made six saves in seven chances.
