DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey dropped a choppy game against the Indiana Tech Warriors on Friday (Oct. 11) with a final score of 7-4. The Wolverines started on the wrong foot, giving up three unanswered goals to start the contest. The Wolverines hung around, but it was too little and too late for the Maize & Blue.
Late in the first period, with the Wolverines trailing 3-0, people started counting the Wolverines out. With less than 90 seconds left in the period, Zak Januszkowski lit the lamp and got the Wolverines on the board just before the end of the period. Unfortunately, the Warriors would kill the momentum early in the second as they came out firing, scoring three more unanswered goals. The Wolverines cut the lead to three after two quick goals from Carter Allen and in the late seconds by Will Barrett.
Indiana Tech put the nail in the coffin, adding their seventh goal at the 13:14 mark in the third and putting the game out of reach.
The Wolverines and Indiana Tech will meet again on Saturday (Oct. 12) in Fort Wayne, with a 7:30 p.m. start time.
