SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – April 9, 2025 — The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team faced a tough test under the lights on Wednesday night, falling to No. 9-ranked Lawrence Tech by a final score of 21-7 at Blue Devil Stadium. Despite a competitive second quarter and a strong showing from Gabriel De La Paz, the Wolverines could not keep pace with the high-powered Blue Devil offense.
Game Summary
Lawrence Tech opened the game on a tear, scoring the first four goals and taking a 5-1 lead into the second quarter. UM-Dearborn responded with its best offensive stretch of the night, outscoring LTU 4-3 during the middle of the second quarter. Sophomore Gabriel De La Paz sparked the rally, scoring back-to-back goals and finishing with a game-high three tallies for the Wolverines.
Freshman Reece Rath and senior Jeremy Fancett each found the back of the net, while J.J. Haas added a third-quarter goal to round out the scoring for the Wolverines.
However, the Blue Devils showcased their depth and speed throughout, with Brendan Shinavier netting six goals and Grady Holmes adding six points (4G, 2A). Lawrence Tech scored six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
