Huge Second Half Propels Wolverines Past Cardinals

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team secured an impressive 83-75 win over Concordia University (MI) on Wednesday (Nov. 20), improving their record to 2-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Concordia dropped to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams shooting efficiently in the first half. Concordia held a narrow 42-37 lead at the break, thanks partly to a strong performance from Ray Washington-Battle, who led his team with 18 points. However, Michigan-Dearborn came out strong in the second half, outscoring Concordia 46-33 to secure the victory.

The Wolverines were led by Joshua Warren, who had a standout performance, finishing with 25 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. He was also 11-of-12 from the free-throw line. Jackson Reynolds also contributed significantly, playing all 40 minutes and scoring 20 points, while Collin Miller added 17 points and two assists. Thomas Dillard IV contributed nine points and six rebounds, and Jonathan Ammori provided a strong effort off the bench, finishing just shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Conversely, Concordia was led by Washington-Battle's 18 points, while Jack Olis added 16 points and nine rebounds. Jason Jergens contributed 13 points, and Colby Chapman finished with 17 points off the bench, shooting 5-of-8 from the field. Despite their strong individual performances, Concordia struggled with turnovers, committing 16 throughout the game, which allowed Michigan-Dearborn to capitalize on fast breaks and maintain control.

Michigan-Dearborn shot 46.3% from the field, including 34.8% from three-point range. They were also excellent at the free-throw line, hitting 78.1% of their attempts.
