DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team suffered a tough loss to Holy Cross, falling 90-52 in a non-conference matchup. Despite a solid individual performance from Marissa Thomas, who finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, the Wolverines struggled overall with shooting efficiency and defensive consistency.
Holy Cross showcased a well-balanced attack, shooting 51.5% from the field and 81.3% from the free-throw line. Grace Adams, the standout performer for Holy Cross, posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring her team offensively and on the glass. Jordyn Smith contributed 12 points and was efficient, going 5-for-9 from the field, while Audrey Tallent added 15 points off the bench, including three triples.
Despite Holy Cross's offensive success, Michigan-Dearborn had trouble finding a rhythm. The Wolverines shot just 18-of-63 from the field, including 4-of-17 from beyond the arc. Marissa Thomas accounted for over a third of her team's scoring with 19 points, but her efforts weren't enough to overcome Holy Cross's offensive firepower.
Olivia Scott contributed eight points, while Bailey Stimac and Sydney Dixon struggled to find their shooting touch, combining for just nine points on 4-of-22 shooting. The Wolverines were also outrebounded 46-34, with Holy Cross holding a commanding 38-25 edge on the defensive glass.
The game saw UM-Dearborn unable to recover from a sluggish first half, trailing by 23 points at the break (51-28). Holy Cross kept up the pressure throughout the second half, continuing to build their lead and eventually sealing the victory by a 38-point margin.
