Wolverines Drop a Pair to Siena Heights and Lawrence Tech

UTICA, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team wrapped up a slate of four games this weekend with a pair of back-breaking losses against Siena Heights and Lawrence Tech. Gavin Hampton had an exceptional weekend, hitting a home run in three of the four games and tallied 10 RBIs.

Hampton went 4-13 on the weekend, with three of his four hits coming by way of the long ball. Hampton had a three RBI game in game one against Siena Heights and a four-RBI game in the finale. Carter Stephenson continued his impressive stretch, recording seven hits on the weekend. Stephenson now holds a .369 batting average. Max Granatstein recorded hits in all four games, including his first collegiate home run in game three. Carlo Corona hit safely in all three games he played, going 5-for-11 on the weekend. 

Luis Gallardo and Johnny Hesterman put together strong performances on the mound, going 4.2 and 4.1 innings, respectively. Gallardo struck out four while scattering three hits, while Hesterman punched out five and surrendered four hits. John Stavola had a strong debut for the Wolverines, scattering two runs in four innings and striking out three.
