UM-Dearborn Falls to Madonna 104-70

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team struggled to keep up with the high-powered offense of Madonna University, falling 104-70 in a Saturday afternoon matchup at home. The Wolverines were outscored by a big margin in the first half and, despite a strong second-half effort, could not overcome the Crusaders, who were led by a balanced offensive attack.

Madonna came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, scoring 56 points in the first half. The Crusaders shot an impressive 51.4% (19-of-37) from the field, including 54.5% (6-of-11) from beyond the arc. Isaac Anderson led the charge for Madonna, scoring 17 points in the opening half. The Wolverines struggled to keep pace, shooting just 34.2% (13-of-38) from the field, and found themselves trailing by 19 points at the break, 56-37.

Despite solid contributions from Joshua Warren, who had 19 points in the first half, and Jackson Reynolds, who scored 9 points, UM-Dearborn could not contain the offensive firepower of the Crusaders. Madonna dominated the boards with 29 rebounds in the half, while the Wolverines only managed 16.

The Wolverines showed some resilience in the second half but were still outmatched. Madonna's offense remained efficient, scoring 48 points, led by Brendan Young and Ethan Emerzian, who finished with 19 and 18 points, respectively. UM-Dearborn's defense struggled to slow Madonna's offensive attack, as the Crusaders shot 45.9% (17-of-37) from the field after the break.

The Wolverines, meanwhile, were able to generate some scoring through Joshua Warren, who finished with a team-high 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting. Warren also hit 4-of-10 from three-point range, but his efforts were not enough to erase the large deficit. Reynolds added 13 points, and Thomas Dillard IV chipped in 10 points.
