Wolverines Grab Crucial Victory Over Lawrence Tech

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn secured a critical victory over the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Friday (Nov 1). In a tight race for the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament, the Wolverines jumped into a tie for seventh after upsetting the Blue Devils, who are now tied for fourth. Abigail Goldobin had a career game for the Wolverines, putting down 17 kills in the four-set victory. 

The Wolverines started slow, dropping the first set 25-21. However, the following three sets would be all Wolverines. Three Wolverines tallied 14 or more kills as Kielee Tondryk led the way with 18 and a .356 kill percentage. Goldobin's 17 came in just 44 swings, giving her a .182 kill percentage. Marisa Fetterley added 14, as she needed just 35 swings. The Wolverines were strong in defense and with their passing, tallying 78 digs and 63 assists, with 56 coming from Regan Rose. Rose recorded another double-double, adding 12 digs with her astonishing 14 assists per set. Rose was one of four Wolverines to record double-digit digs as Kenzie Mertz, Ellie MacDonald, and Laura Chandler got in on the action. Mertz had a game-high 29 digs in the contest.

The Wolverines have their regular season home finale on Wednesday (Nov 6) against No. 12 Aquinas College.
