DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan women's hockey team played the second game of their two-game series today against Grand Valley State University. The Wolverines struck first and never looked back, winning today's game with a final score of 4-1.
The Wolverines scored about halfway through the first period with a ripper from captain Cadence Pero. However, Grand Valley would answer right before the end of the period. The Wolverines would come out blazing hot in the second, scoring within the first two minutes of the period coming from Pero again. With one second left in the second, Pero tallied her third goal of the contest and secured the hat-trick. The Wolverines didn't step off the gas in the third because Andi Evers found the back of the net five minutes into the period, resulting in the 4-1 final.
The Wolverines travel to St. Louis for a two-game series against McKendree and Lindenwood next weekend.
