Schwartz's Late Goal Helps Wolverines Share Points at Cleary

HOWELL, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team needed some late magic on Saturday (Oct. 5) to share the points against the Cleary Cougars on their home ground. Andrew Schwartz scored a goal in the 81st minute to help the Wolverines tie 1-1 at Lake Trust Stadium.

Both teams shared possession for much of the game, with shots and corner kicks evenly matched, with the Wolverines getting a slight edge in both categories. However, despite 16 shots being taken between the two teams in the opening 45 minutes, neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The Cougars would break the scoreless deadlock right out of the half as they snuck one past Wolverine goalkeeper Jack Rogers in the 48th minute. The Wolverines were relentless in their effort for a goal, but the persistence would pay off as Schwartz would score an unassisted goal to tie the contest late in the game and help the Wolverines come home with crucial points.

Jack Rogers played all 90 minutes and made seven saves to help the Wolverines stay within reach of the Cougars.
