GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team faced their toughest opponent to date in the No. 12 Aquinas University Saints. The Wolverines traveled to the Sturrus Sports Center on Wednesday (Oct. 2), prepared for a rowdy atmosphere. Despite the Wolverine's efforts, the Saints took down the Maize & Blue 3-0.
The Saints' attack was too much for the Wolverines, as Aquinas hit .368 as a team compared to .097 for the Wolverines. Kielee Tondryk led the Wolverines in kills with nine, while Kristin Maust and Marisa Fetterley each had six. Errors plagued the Wolverines, as the Saints recorded 11 blocks. Four Wolverines tallied five or more digs, while Kenzie Mertz led the team with nine.
