GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan- Dearborn men's hockey team took on Davenport University Saturday, January 31. The Wolverines traveled to Davenport for game two of the home-home series. UM-Deaborn would end up sweeping the series as they took game two with a final score of 5-2.
The Wolverines scored in the first however, Davenport would answer right back, tying the game at one apiece after the first 20 minutes. But, the Wolverines took control in the second period scoring twice and giving themselves the lead after two with a score of 3-1. In the third, UM-Dearborn would see its lead trimmed to one as Davenport gets back into the game. However, the Wolverines would create some distance, scoring two more in the third giving them the three-goal lead and the win. Goal scored for the Wolverines were Bailey Byrd and two from both Craig McKague and Caleb Cathcart. Trevor Heslop got the start in goal, stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced for his third win of the season.
The Wolverines are back in action against Cleary University at 7 PM Friday, February 7th at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
