ADRIAN, Mich. -- Madison Shelton of the University of Michigan-Dearborn bowling team had a day to remember on Saturday (Nov. 13). Shelton took the top spot at the SHU Halo Classic by 44 pins to win her first tournament, dawning the Maize & Blue.
Shelton opened her day strong, knocking down 216 pins in her opening game. Shelton followed that up with a 201 in game two and rounded out her day with a 171 to give her a three-game average of 196. Katrina McKay took 16th, knocking down 446 pins. Alexandra Dasuqi and Juanita Higgins finished back-to-back in 21st and 22nd, totaling 427 pins.
In the men's competition, Joey DeVita was the top finisher for the Wolverines as he took home seventh place. Nathan Roberts also finished inside the top 10, and he finished ninth. Roberts rolled a 204 and 202 to help propel him to a 197.3 average. Joshua Schunemann was 13 with a 578, while Tommy Bain and Tyler Kiroski rounded out the Wolverine competitors in 21st and 28th.
