Wolverines Drop Non-Conference Matchup Against Shawnee State

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team struggled in a physical match against the Shawnee State Bears on Saturday (Sept. 14). The Bears came out on top 4-1, in a contest that saw 15 yellow cards be shown. 

The Bears got on the scoresheet first, scoring the game's first goal in the 32nd minute. Andrew Schwartz scored the lone goal for the Wolverines in the 39th minute, equalizing the game at one. Shawnee State would score three unanswered goals in the final 61 minutes to take the 4-1 victory. Elijah Burlak played 49 minutes in net, stopping three shots.
