Wolverines Struggle on Spring Opening Weekend

LEBANON, Tenn. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team struggled on their spring opening weekend, as they went 0-6 against Campbellsville (KY) and Cumberland (TN). The Wolverines offense struggled to get going as they were outscored 56-10. The bright spot came from Luis Gallardo, who tossed a complete game against Cumberland (TN) on Saturday (Mar. 1).

Dylan Ruhstorfer had a strong weekend going 4-10 at the plate with a double. Ruhstorfer struck out just once 10 plate appearances. After surrendering a two-run home run in the first inning, Gallardo held the Phoenix at bay until the bottom of the sixth when Cumberland scored their final run on an RBI single to center. Gallardo gave up just four hits in six innings and struck out a pair.

The Wolverines take on Georgetown on Thursday (Mar. 6) to finish off their spring trip.
