Wolverines Lose a Pair Against Mount Vernon Nazarene

ROYAL OAK, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team struggled on Saturday (Oct. 5) against Mount Vernon Nazarene. The Wolverines were outscored 28-0 in Saturday's doubleheader.

The Wolverines' pitching staff was in a groove early in game one as Jacob White blanked MVNU in the first three innings, tallying a pair of strikeouts. The Cougar's offense began to heat up in the final four innings as they would score runs in three of the final four innings to win game one 6-0. Max Granatstein and James Forner tallied the only hits for UM-Dearborn in game one.

The Wolverines were unable to get anything started in the series finale, as the Cougars scored runs in five of seven innings. The Wolverines tallied five hits, including an extra-base hit from Granatstein in the bottom of the first.
