Reynolds Has Impressive Day in Opening Night Loss

GARY, Ind. -- In a tough matchup, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team faced off against Indiana Northwest on Friday (Nov 1), ultimately falling short with a final score of 100-76.

Jackson Reynolds led the Wolverines with an impressive performance, scoring 28 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He shot 9-of-17 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Despite his efforts, the team struggled with shooting efficiency overall, finishing the game with 39.7% from the field and 23.1% from three-point range.

Elvis Machul Jr. also contributed significantly, adding 16 points and six rebounds, while Zachary Cody and Thomas Dillard IV chipped in with 10 and four points, respectively. However, the team's offensive efforts fell short as they struggled to find consistency and were plagued by turnovers, finishing with 12 for the game.

On the other hand, Indiana Northwest showcased an efficient offensive strategy, shooting 47.1% from the field and converting 80% of their free throws. Trace Williams was a standout performer for the Redhawks, scoring 23 points and four assists, while Demarius Splunge and Dannie Smith added 15 and 18 points, respectively.

Defensively, UM-Dearborn could not contain Indiana Northwest's scoring, allowing them to outrebound them with 46 rebounds compared to their own 41. The disparity in shooting percentages and rebounding ultimately led to their defeat.
