DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn played their second top-10 opponent this week as the Wolverines welcomed No. 4 Indiana Tech to Crestwood High School on Saturday (Apr. 5). The Warriors scored four goals in the final five minutes of the first quarter and did not look back concluding in a 25-8 final.
The game kicked off with Indiana Tech quickly scoring from Josh Bramley's stick, with an assist from Cooper Langille, who opened the scoring just over a minute into the game, giving the Warriors an early 1-0 lead. UM-Dearborn responded shortly after, with Jeremy Fancett scoring off a Brodie Mahmud assist to tie the game at 1-1. However, Indiana Tech answered back with four unanswered goals, including a pair from Cooper Langille and Devin Macomber, ending the first quarter with a 5-1 lead.
In the second quarter, Indiana Tech continued to pull away. Macomber scored three times in the period, bringing his first-half tally to four goals. UM-Dearborn did manage to find the net twice, with Fancett scoring again and Garrett Kern contributing a goal off a pass from Ryan Savage, but Indiana Tech's offensive firepower was too much. The Warriors went into halftime with a commanding 10-3 advantage.
The third quarter saw Indiana Tech put the game further out of reach, with the Warriors outscoring the Wolverines 10-3. Macomber, Langille, and Bramley dominated, while the Wolverines' efforts remained sporadic. Fancett added his third goal of the day for UM-Dearborn, but Indiana Tech's consistent offense, highlighted by Macomber's fifth goal, pushed the lead to 20-6 by the start of the fourth quarter.
The final quarter was all Indiana Tech as the Warriors scored five more goals to Michigan-Dearborn's two. Fancett and Reece Rath added late goals for the Wolverines, but the Warriors' strong offensive showing ensured they would not be caught.
