Women's Basketball Falls on the Road Against Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. -- In a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup, the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team fell to Madonna University 69-53 on February 15, 2025. The loss dropped UM-Dearborn to 0-27 on the season and 0-19 in conference play, while Madonna improved to 13-14 overall and 6-13 in the MIAA.

First Half:

Madonna got off to a strong start, leading 16-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Crusaders extended their advantage in the second, outscoring UM-Dearborn 21-13, giving them a commanding 37-24 lead heading into halftime. Key performances from Terre'ya Moore, who had seven points in the first half, and Faith Jungwirth, who grabbed 11 rebounds, helped Madonna control the pace.

Second Half:

UM-Dearborn showed some fight in the third quarter, scoring 17 points, but Madonna responded with 16 points of their own, maintaining a 53-41 lead. The Wolverines struggled with shooting efficiency, hitting just 5 of 25 attempts from beyond the arc (20%) for the game, and were unable to capitalize on Madonna's 16 turnovers.

In the final quarter, the Wolverines scored 12 points, but Madonna's defense and free-throw shooting kept them comfortably ahead. Madonna hit 25 of 29 free throws (86.2%), including a perfect 10-of-11 performance from Moore.
