Wolverines Fall Short Against Golden Eagles

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team narrowly missed out on a comeback against the Cornerstone Golden Eagles on Wednesday (Oct. 9). The Wolverines evened the match up at two before the Golden Eagles walked away with the fifth set and the match. 

The Golden Eagles gave the Wolverines fits in the first two sets, as UM-Dearborn scored 14 and 15 points, respectively. The Wolverines flipped the script in sets three and four, forcing CU into costly errors and evening the contest up at two a piece. CU hit .600 in the final set to down the Wolverines and take a 3-2 victory.

Kielee Tondryk led the Wolverines with 19 kills; however, Kristin Maust and Marisa Fetterley also added double-digit kills. Regan Rose recorded a double-double, dishing out 45 assists and 10 digs. Kenzie Mertz led the match with 16 digs in the five-set thriller.
