Wolverines Fall Despite Late Second Half Surge

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team fell short in a closely contested game against the Rochester Christian Warriors on Thursday (Feb. 13). The Wolverines made a late run in the second half to cut it to six after previously trailing by 22 earlier in the half. RCU would hold off the Wolverines in the final 60 seconds and take an 81-72 victory.

Rochester Christian was led by a stellar performance from Brody Parker, who scored 26 points on 9-18 shooting, including 7-of-7 from the free-throw line, while contributing six rebounds and three assists. Dustin Farrow added 16 points and 11 rebounds, showcasing his presence on both ends of the court. Brett White also played a key role, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists and getting crucial buckets late in the game. Despite shooting just 26.7% from three-point range, Rochester Christian made up for it with an efficient overall field goal percentage of 50.8% and strong rebounding, out-rebounding Michigan-Dearborn 46-30. James Fisher also contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, helping solidify their win.

For UM-Dearborn, Jackson Reynolds had a standout performance, scoring 27 points on 8-of-18 shooting, including 3-of-9 from beyond the arc, and contributing three rebounds and two assists. Joshua Warren added 24 points, shooting 10-of-19 from the field. Thomas Dillard IV provided valuable support with nine points and 10 rebounds, while Zachary Cody chipped in four points and three rebounds. However, the team struggled with shooting, especially from three-point range, hitting only 29.6% (8-27). Despite solid individual efforts, UM-Dearborn could not overcome their slow start in the second half, resulting in the nine-point loss.
