Wolverines Drop a Pair Against Bethel

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team closed out their four-game series against the Bethel Pilots on Saturday (Sept. 28). After splitting with the Pilots the day prior, the Wolverines dropped both games today, leaving their record as 1-7 heading into their final three games of the fall season.

Ben Cardella and Cael Bedard pitched three innings in game one, scattering three runs each. UM-Dearborn's bats were quiet, as they mustered just four baserunners in the entire game. Gavin Hampton and Carter Stephenson each had multi-hit games.

The Wolverines were held scoreless until the seventh inning in game two as Stephenson delivered an RBI sac fly to score Gavin Hollon. Lance Smith registered three of the Wolverines' five hits in the contest. Hollon also recorded a multi-hit game as he went 2-3 with a double and a run scored.
