Pero Nets OT GWG, Wolverines Beat Adrian 3-2

ADRIAN, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team looked to bounce back from the previous night, closing out a weekend series with the Adrian College Bulldogs this past Saturday night.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead once again as Nicole Hahn scored her second goal in as many nights with Maddison McIndoo getting the lone assist. The Bulldogs would respond in the late stages of the first as Neleh Wood tied the game at one.

After a scoreless second period, Adrian College's Rhea Patterson gave her team the lead, connecting on the power play early in the third. UM-Dearborn would respond as Grace Adriaanse tied things up at two with Andi Evers and Charlise Wharram getting the assists on the play.

For the second straight night, the Wolverines and Bulldogs would go to overtime. UM-Dearborn would kill off a carry-over penalty from the third before finding itself on just its second power play of the night.  Evers slid a pass over to captain Cadence Pero as she found the back of the net for the game-winner and the 3-2 overtime win. Amy Palaian added the secondary hepler on the play, her second point in as many nights since returning from the World University Games held in Italy.

Kenna Borso got the win in goal for the Wolverines, making 33 saves in the game.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Aquinas College at 7pm Friday, January 31st at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
