DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team triumphed over St. Ambrose (IA) in an 11-7 win at the SVAC in Davenport, Iowa. The victory improves the Wolverines' record to 3-1 on the season.

The game started with a defensive edge as the Wolverines were tied 2-2 at halftime, with goals from Brodie Mahmud and Reece Rath. However, the third quarter saw a burst of offensive firepower from the Wolverines. UM-Dearborn rattled off five unanswered goals, from five different players to give the Wolverines a 7-2 advantage. Garrett Kern and Gabriel De La Paz each scored on the man advantage. The Wolverines maintained an 8-4 lead heading into the final stanza.

Despite a late push from St. Ambrose, who scored three goals in the fourth quarter, the Wolverines maintained control. Rath netted two more goals, and Garrett Kern added one more, sealing the win for UM-Dearborn with a final score of 11-7.

Key contributors for Michigan-Dearborn included Rath, who finished with a game-high four goals, and Gabriel De La Paz, who contributed a goal and two assists. Defensively, goalie Jack Meyers recorded 18 saves to keep St. Ambrose at bay.

St. Ambrose (0-2) was led by Ryan Swanson, who scored twice, and Eli Hahn, who assisted on one goal. However, the team's offensive efforts fell short as they could not overcome UM-Dearborn's strong second-half performance.

The Wolverines will now look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their matchup against the top team in the nation on Sunday (Mar. 2) as they take on No. 1 Keiser at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
