Wolverines Win Non-Conference Matchup Over Grace Christian

DEARBORN, Mich. -- In a tightly contested matchup on Saturday (Jan. 11) the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team secured an 80-74 victory over Grace Christian University. The Wolverines improved to 6-11 after an impressive performance on their home court. 

The Wolverines began with a narrow lead in the first half, ending with a 37-34 advantage. Jackson Reynolds emerged as a standout player, scoring 25 points and grabbing three rebounds while demonstrating stellar leadership on the court. His efforts were complemented by Joshua Warren, who added 19 points and contributed vital assists, particularly during critical stretches of the game.

As the second half unfolded, Grace Christian fought hard despite facing adversity with excellent performances from Omari Bankeys, who recorded 17 points and a remarkable 12 rebounds. Quay Humphries also made a notable contribution off the bench, scoring 15 points and consistently pressuring the Wolverines' defense.

UM-Dearborn's depth proved significant, with key players stepping up throughout the contest. The team executed a solid strategy on offense and maintained a strong defense, limiting Grace Christian's shooting percentage to 44.4%. In contrast, the Wolverines capitalized on their opportunities, especially at the free-throw line, where they converted 18 of 24 attempts. The win improved the Wolverines' record to 6-11, while Grace Christian fell to 6-12. This victory serves as a confidence booster for UM-Dearborn as they look to build momentum in the remainder of the season.
