Wolverines End Season With Win Over Miami (OH)

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- Despite winning 3-2 on Wednesday (Mar. 19), the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team played their final game of the 2024-25 season. The Wolverines took down Miami (OH) in the ACHA National Tournament but would ultimately not make it out of Pool B after losing to Maryville University the previous day.

The game began with a scoreless first period, though Michigan-Dearborn dominated in shots on goal, firing 12 to the Redhawks seven. It wasn't until the second period that the scoreboard saw its first change, as Andi Evers put the Wolverines on the board with a goal at 7:24, assisted by Cadence Pero. A few minutes later, at 10:56, Taylor Spence doubled the lead, scoring on the power play with Evers adding the assist.

In the third period, Miami (OH) mounted a comeback. Paula Ambit scored for the RedHawks at 9:36, assisted by Cailin Schwarzer, cutting the deficit to 2-1. But UM-Dearborn answered with another power-play goal from Spence at 19:03, her second of the game, assisted once again by Evers. Miami kept the pressure on and managed a short-handed goal at 19:30 from Schwarzer, but it was too little, too late, as Michigan-Dearborn held on to win 3-2.
