DEARBORN, Mich. – After starting the season 7-1 in non-conference action. The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team opened up WHAC play against the Cornerstone Golden Eagles on Wednesday (Sept. 4). The Golden Eagles took down the Wolverines 3-0 inside the Fieldhouse, moving the Wolverines to 7-2 on the season.

Jill Paryaski was the only Wolverine to establish themselves in the match, putting down six kills in 17 swings, hitting .294 on the night. Paryaski denied the Golden Eagles three times at the net to add to her point total.

The Wolverines led early in both the second and third sets, but timely hitting from the Golden Eagles and poor defense and passing from the Maize & Blue saw them drop both sets, eventually getting swept. Tonight's contest is a reminder of the challenges that the WHAC brings every night, but it also serves as a learning opportunity for a Wolverine team that saw a lot of turnover from the previous season.
