BEVERLY HILLS, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn opened up the 2025 season with an NAIA non-conference match against the Montreat (NC) Cavaliers this past Saturday night at the campus of Detroit Country Day in Beverly Hills, Mich.

The two squads would trade goals throughout the first half with the Cavaliers taking their first lead of the game at 5-4 with 10:51 remaining in the second quarter. However, the Wolverines would score eight unanswered, building a lead large enough to hold off Montreat despite a late push from the Cavaliers. UM-Dearborn would go on to win the opener 12-9.

The Wolverines were led by Jeremy Fancett and Cole Rosenwald, both with hat-tricks, while Nolan Kelley and newcomer Reece Rath added two goals each.

Jack Meyers got the start in goal for UM-Dearborn, making 14 saves in the winning effort.

The Wolverines return to action against the Alma College Scots at 2 PM Saturday, February 8th in Alma, Mich.
