HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team opened up competition at the Cleary University Invitational on Friday (Sept. 13). Wolverine senior Brandon Tirador took third at Chemung Hills County Club after carding a 73 on the par 71.
After dropping a stroke on three of the first six holes, Tirador found his stride on the final three holes, recording back-to-back pars and a birdie on the par four ninth to finish with a 38 on the front nine. Tirador continued his success with his second birdie of the day, bringing him back to one over through 10. After back-to-back bogies on 13 and 14, Tirador closed his round out with a birdie and three pars to card a 73.
Jason Cuppari put together one of his best rounds in the Maize and Blue after pouring in three birdies for a 78 and a top-15 finish. Mohamad Homayed carded a 41 on the back nine to shoot an 85 on the day. Keegan Tripp rounded out the Wolverines' day with a 94.
