DEARBORN, Mich. -- The No. 7 University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team swept a pair of games against the Concordia University Cardinals on Friday (Nov. 1) and Saturday (Nov. 2). The Wolverines outscored the Cardinals 12-2, winning 7-0 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday.
On Friday, rookies Ella Dumas and Ellee Kloian scored their first collegiate goals. Dumas scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the contest, while Kloian made it 5-0 at the 10:40 mark in the third. Nicole Alexander made her first collegiate start between the pipes, recording her first career shutout and making 18 saves. Stephanie Hatch and Andi Evers led the Wolverines with three points. Hatch tallied three assists, while Evers scored a goal and tallied two helpers. Ashley Savage, Cadence Pero, and Finnia O'Neill Di Mascio added goals for the Wolverines.
In Saturday's contest, Victoria Hahn got the start, earning her third win of the season in a 33-save performance. Pero led the Wolverines with a three-point performance. Pero scored twice and added an assist. The center also won 13 faceoffs in 22 chances. Evers added another multi-point game as she scored a goal and dished out an assist. Riley Vandenheuvel and Nicole Hahn added goals in the Wolverine win.
The Wolverines take on top-ranked Adrian College in a home-and-home series next Friday and Saturday.
