DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey team took on Aquinas College tonight at home. With a late start due to inclement weather, the women Wolverines were eager to get on the ice. The Wolverines would take home the win tonight with a final score of 10-1. After scoring the first goal it was smooth sailing from there as they would find the net nine more times, putting the game away early.
In the first period, the Wolverines struck first with a goal from Cadence Pero followed by goals from Stephanie Hatch and Bella Metcalf, her first college goal. Aquinas looked to strike back though with a goal of their own. However, the Wolverines would not be happy about this and score three more times before the end of the first with goals coming from Megan Kosempel, Andi Evers and Maya Ferracciolo.
In the second period, only one goal from the Wolverines was scored, coming from Andi Evers again on the powerplay, a short-side snipe in the top corner over the goalkeeper's shoulder. Then, in the third period goals from Amy Palaian, Andi Evers giving her the hat-trick and Grace Adriaanse. This put the game away for the women Wolverine and gave them the win.
The women Wolverines are back in action next weekend against Miami (Ohio) in a home- home series with the Red Hawks.
