UM-Dearborn Prevails Against RCU

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team triumphed over Rochester Christian University in a thrilling five-set match. The victory was critical for playoff seeding, improving the Wolverines record to 13-11 overall and 5-10 in conference play.

The match began with a challenging first set, during which UM-Dearborn struggled to find its rhythm and lost 25-19. However, the team bounced back in the second set, demonstrating resilience and teamwork to secure a 25-20 win. Kielee Tondryk was instrumental in this comeback, delivering powerful kills and solid defense.

In the third set, the back-and-forth continued, with Rochester edging out a 25-23 win. Yet, UM-Dearborn refused to back down, rallying in the fourth set to take it 25-22, thanks to solid performances from Marisa Fetterley and Jill Paryaski, who combined for crucial points.

The decisive fifth set showcased intense competition, with both teams trading points. UM-Dearborn ultimately prevailed 15-13, clinching the match with strategic plays and grit. Tondryk finished as the standout player, tallying 17 kills and four digs, while Fetterley added 13 kills.

This victory not only boosts the team's morale but also sets a positive tone as they head into the final stretch of the season. Coach expressed pride in the team's determination and adaptability, emphasizing the importance of carrying this momentum forward.
