UM-Dearborn Wolverines Dominate Concordia (Mich.) with a Sensational 8-0 Victory

DEARBORN, Mich. -- In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team secured a commanding win against the Concordia Cardinals, with a final score of 8-0, at The Fieldhouse on Saturday (Oct. 19).

The Wolverines established a substantial lead from the start, finishing the first period at 5-0. The momentum didn't stop there as they extended their advantage to 7-0 after the second period, concluding the game at a robust 8-0. Drew Adams, UM-Dearborn's goaltender, played a pivotal role in securing the shutout, showcasing his defensive prowess throughout the game.

Brenden Paden was undeniably the star of the match, scoring three goals, thereby achieving his first career hat-trick. Additional goal contributions came from Dawson Nelson, Will Barrett, Blake Petterle, Justin Renzi, and Ethan Marcola. Nelson also impressed with three assists.


Early goals highlighted key moments of the game, with Paden opening the scoring just 35 seconds into the game. Barrett and Petterle followed suit with goals at 03:14 and 07:56, respectively, cementing the Wolverines' dominance early on. The collective effort was visible across the board, with notable assists from Matt Cunningham, Ryan Stanley, Bailey Byrd, Joey Cibor, and Caleb Cathcart, who set up essential plays that converted into goals.
