Wolverines Drop Road Contest to Cornerstone

DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action Saturday afternoon, traveling west to take on the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup.

The Wolverines would see a Cornerstone offense jump out to a big lead early as the Golden Eagles shot nearly 50 percent in the first half. UM-Dearborn looked to make adjustments in the second half, however the lead that Cornerstone had to built allowed the Golden Eagles to run away with the 93-52 victory.

Leading the way for the Wolverines was Bailey Stimac with a game-high 17 points, while adding five rebounds and four steals. India Grissom cracked double-digits, adding ten points of her own.

Strong bench scoring helped Cornerstone, with Jaxi Long leading the Golden Eagles with 14 points.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Concordia University at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, January 29th at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
