GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country team had a fantastic day at the NAIA Great Lakes XC Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 26). Two Wolverines, Brett Leidal and Joe Seibert, broke the school record in an 8k race after the duo ran 25:06. The men's team did not register a team score after Leidal and Seibert ran in the maroon race, while the remaining Wolverines ran in the white race. On the women's side, the Wolverines took ninth out of 19 teams.
After Leidal and Seibert ran 25:06 and broke the school record, their final time was good enough to put them in 39th and 40th place, respectively. Isaac Tiernan and Luke Kaferle finished 86th and 88th. While John Borowicz and Adam Haag rounded out the Wolverines afternoon in 131st and 173rd.
In the women's race, Lauryn Hoover took the top spot for the Wolverines after finishing in 33rd with a final time of 20:06. Elena Wheeler and Kaitlyn Bourque took 46th and 47th after running 20:30 and 20:35. Rounding out the Wolverines day was Sabrina Kroll in 84th and Nisreen Chahine in 136th.
