MIDLAND, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country teams ran in the Northwood XC Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 7). The Wolverines top finishers were Joe Seibert and Lauryn Hoover on the women's side.
The women's team took home eighth out of 10 teams, with Lauryn Hoover running in 27th. Hoover finished with a final time of 19:59.7 in her season opener. Kaitlyn Bourque took 45th after posting a time of 20:48.0. Tariyah Dawson ran 22.36.7, while Sabrina Kroll and Nisreen Chahine rounded out the scoring for the Wolverines in 87th and 92nd.
The men's team finished first among competition WHAC teams, beating out Rochester Christian and Cleary in the event. Joe Seibert ran 18:53.0 to take home a top-five finish in his season opener. Brett Leidal was also in the top-10, finishing five seconds behind Seibert. Leidal took home eighth place. Anderson Gattis took 63rd while Isaac Tiernan and Luke Kaferle rounded out the scoring in 78th and 85th.
