Three Wolverines Score in Double Figures in Loss Against UNOH

LIMA, Ohio -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team fought hard but came up short in an 87-72 loss to the University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) matchup. The defeat drops the Wolverines to 0-10 on the season and 0-5 in conference play, while the Racers improved to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in WHAC competition.

Michigan-Dearborn struggled to contain a fast-paced Racers' offense, which capitalized on a dominant third quarter to extend its lead. Despite the deficit, the Wolverines showed resilience, outscoring UNOH 25-18 in the final frame.

Key Performances:

  • Bailey Stimac led the Wolverines with 18 points, hitting 6-of-19 from the field, including 3-of-10 from three-point range. She also grabbed three rebounds and dished out one assist.
  • Marissa Thomas posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She was 7-of-19 shooting and added four steals, four assists, and one block in a solid all-around performance.
  • Jordan Banks contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds, marking another double-double for Michigan-Dearborn. She also recorded one assist and one block.
  • Sydney Dixon chipped in seven points, four rebounds, and one assist in 19 minutes of action.

Alysia Lawson was a standout performer for Northwestern Ohio, scoring 33 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Lawson also went a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. Alycia Patterson added a double-double of her own, with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Jayci Allen contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.
