Cougars Overwhelm Wolverines 5-1

DEARBORN, Mich.- The University of Michigan- Dearborn Women's Hockey team played game two of the two-game series against Sault College on Saturday (Jan. 11). After losing the first game in overtime, the Wolverines looked to battle back in the second game. However, they could only find one goal out of the 31 shots they fired on net, losing today with a final score of 5-1 against the Cougars.

The Wolverines looked strong in the first, getting on the board with a goal from captain Cadence Pero, assisted by the Wolverine's goalie Nicole Alexander. But Sault College would end up scoring two in the first, giving them a one-goal advantage and heading into the first intermission. The Wolverines would look to come out hot in the second period, firing a slew of shots on the Sault goalie but couldn't find the back of the net. Sault College would go on and score three unanswered goals, giving them a 5-1 lead after the second period. Neither team would pencil their name onto the scoresheet in the third, resulting in the 5-1 defeat. 

Nicole Alexander played the first two periods stopping 26 shots. Kenna Borso relieved her in the third stopping all 10 shots she faced in the period.
