ADRIAN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country team competed today at the Siena Heights XC invite on Friday (Sept. 27). The women's team finished 5th out of eight teams. Brett Leidal took home a top-10 finish, helping the men take 4th out of nine teams.
The Wolverines were led by senior Lauryn Hoover, who ran an outstanding 24:40.80 and placed herself in the top ten. Following her teammate was fellow senior Kaitlyn Bourque, who ran 25:21.90 and secured herself in 16th place out of 75 competitors in today's race.
To round out the Wolverines day, Tariyah Dawson placed 34th, Sabrina Kroll placed 44th, and Nisreen Chahine placed 54th.
In the men's competition, Leidal's 8k time of 26:36 gave him a sixth-place finish. Joe Seibert finished in the top 15 with a final time of 27:16. Anderson Gattis ran in 27th with a final time of 28:11. Isaac Tiernan, John Borowicz, and Luke Kaferle finished in a small pack as they took home 35th, 38th and 39th.
