Reynolds Pours in 20 in Loss Against Cornerstone

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team suffered a tough loss to Cornerstone University, falling 104-67 at home on December 4, 2024. Despite a strong second-half performance, the Wolverines struggled throughout the game to keep up with a high-powered Cornerstone offense that shot an impressive 68.4% from the field.

Cornerstone came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, building a commanding 51-24 lead at the break. The Golden Eagles were led by Luke Rowlinson (16 points) and Blake Stewart (11 points), who helped their team to a 68.4% shooting percentage in the first half, including a near-perfect 5-of-5 from Stewart. Cornerstone's depth and efficiency were on full display, as they out-rebounded Michigan-Dearborn 30-12 in the opening period and capitalized on the Wolverines' struggles to find a rhythm offensively.

The Wolverines showed signs of life in the second half, posting 43 points, their highest total of the game. Jackson Reynolds led Michigan-Dearborn with a team-high 20 points, including 4-of-7 from three-point range. Despite Reynolds' effort, the Wolverines were unable to overcome Cornerstone's firepower, as the Golden Eagles kept up their scoring pace with 53 points in the final 20 minutes.

Other contributors for Michigan-Dearborn included Joshua Warren, who finished with 10 points despite a tough shooting night (4-of-22), and Thomas Dillard IV, who added 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds. However, the Wolverines struggled to find consistency on offense, shooting just 27.1% from the field and a cold 25.0% from beyond the arc.

Cornerstone (MI) was led by Blake Stewart, who finished perfect from the field (5-of-5) for 11 points, and Andy Mora, who added 12 points off the bench. The Golden Eagles displayed balanced scoring, with double-digit performances from Rowlinson (16 points), Mason Brooks (six points, eight rebounds), and Kayden Bird (13 points). Cornerstone's high shooting percentage and depth were too much for the Wolverines to handle, as they cruised to the 104-67 victory.
