Strong Third Quarter Pushes Wolverines Past Midland

DAVENPORT, IOWA -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines dominated the Midland Warriors in a 14-4 victory during their neutral site matchup on the campus of St. Ambrose. The game saw UM-Dearborn bounce back from a slow start to build a commanding lead, ultimately sealing the win with an overwhelming second-half performance.

First Half: Midland struck early, with Carson Meier opening the scoring at 14:17, followed by Tanner Jamison's goal just 13 seconds later, giving the Warriors a quick 2-0 lead. However, the Wolverines responded with five unanswered goals, starting with Cole Rosenwald's goal at 11:48. Aidan Meyers and Reece Rath followed suit, and by the 3:32 mark, Michigan-Dearborn had a 5-2 lead. The first quarter ended with the Wolverines in control, as the Warriors were unable to find the back of the net again.

The second quarter was scoreless for both teams, leaving Midland trailing 5-2 at halftime.

Second Half: The Wolverines came out of halftime on fire, scoring six straight goals in the third quarter. Garrett Kern, Aidan Meyers, and Brodie Mahmud all found the back of the net in rapid succession, putting Michigan-Dearborn up 9-2. Gabriel De La Paz added two more, including a goal at the buzzer, extending the lead to 11-2 heading into the final quarter.

Midland did manage to show some fight in the fourth quarter. Carson Meier netted two more unassisted goals at 9:49 and 8:03, cutting the lead to 12-4. However, UM-Dearborn answered quickly with two more goals from Kern and Rath, pushing their lead back to 14-4.
