Wolverines Drop Warriors in Straight Sets

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team evened their conference record on Wednesday (Sept.25) against the Rochester Christian Warriors. The Wolverines took down the Warriors in straight sets, and Marisa Fetterley led the match with 12 kills.

Fetterley, a sophomore middle blocker, recorded double-digit kills for the sixth time in 15 games this season and the second time in as many games. Fetterley added four block assists to finish with 15 points. Jill Paryaski was efficient in her swings, putting down six kills in 12 attacks to finish with a kill percentage of .417. Regan Rose had one of her best games of the season as she dished out 32 assists and added two kills, six digs and four blocks.

The Wolverines handled the Warriors in the first two sets but found themselves in a hole in the third. Down 8-2, Head Coach Eric Stark didn't flinch; a timeout wasn't necessary as his team rattled off six consecutive points to force the Warriors into a timeout of their own. UM-Dearborn would score eight of the following 10 points to take a 16-10 lead and fully control the match. The Wolverines would cap off the match with a Paryaski kill down the line to sweep the Warriors.
