Men ‘s Soccer Falls in Double Overtime

Adrian, Mich. – The UM-Dearborn men's soccer team kicked off the season with a road game against WHAC foe Siena Heights University on Wednesday. After a scoreless first half, Wolverines freshman Christian Cole scored his first collegiate goal with sophomore Christian Cuevas getting the assist. Siena Heights kept the pressure on, but sophomore Austin Dukes kept the ball out of the net. Unfortunately, the Saints attack proved to be too much as they tied the game with 1:31 remaining.

After the first overtime in which neither team scored, Siena Heights would score the game winning goal with just over three minutes left in the second overtime. Dukes would finish the game making 18 saves in his collegiate goaltending debut.

Siena Heights finished the game with 20 shots on goal to UM-Dearborn's seven.

The men's soccer team returns to action Saturday as they travel to Howell to take on the Cleary Cougars at 7:00pm.
