Wolverines Drop Season Finale in Fort Wayne, Lose to Indiana Tech 97-69

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The University of Michigan- Dearborn (4-24, 1-19) men's basketball team lost to the first-place Indiana Tech (24-3, 17-2) Warriors 97-69 Wednesday (Feb. 15) night. The loss puts the team's losing streak at ten games to end the season. 

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Sophomore Maurice Anderson led the Wolverines with 20 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Sophomore Jimmy Breaux added 18 points and was the only other Wolverine to score in double figures. Four players for Dearborn dished out two helpers each in the contest. 

 

Indiana Tech Leaders

Lucas Lehrman was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 16 points. Josh Kline netted 14 of his own, while Blake Davison and Steve Helm both added 12 points each for the home team.

 

Inside the Game

The Wolverines started strong with a three-pointer by Anderson, but it was all Indiana Tech after that, as they went on an 18-2 run early. UM-Dearborn trailed by 26 at the break, 31-57, and were down by as many as 35 points in the second half. 

The Warriors kept a close watch on senior Elwood Tomlinson, Dearborn's leading scorer this year, limiting him to just two points on 1-6 shooting, including 0-4 from behind the three-point line in his final contest as a UM-Dearborn Wolverine. Fellow senior Stefan Didoszak hit a three-pointer with just over a minute left in the contest, which would be the final points of his career, the game, and the season for the Wolverines.
