Wolverines Drop Regular Season Finale 5-3

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (3-8-5, 2-5-4) men's soccer team looked to end the regular season on a strong note as they traveled south of the border to take on the Lourdes Gray Wolves (6-6-5, 6-3-2) on Saturday (Oct. 28). The contest saw eight goals but ultimately the Wolverines were on the losing end dropping the contest 5-3. 

 

The Wolverines raced out to a fast start on the road as Andrew Schwartz potted an unassisted goal in the third minute to make it 1-0. The goal marked Schwartz's fourth of the season. The lead didn't last long, as the Gray Wolves responded two minutes later to equalize the match.

 

Lourdes would score three more unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead early in the second half. Xavier Walser cut the lead to two with his fifth goal of the season in the 53rd minute. 

 

The Wolverine comeback attempt would come short as seven minutes later, the Gray Wolves would make it 5-2. Nicolas Pulcini scored in the 90th minute to end in a 5-3 final.

 

The Wolverines will await other results around the conference to determine if their season is extended.
