DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-4, 0-1) women's basketball team lost their WHAC opener against Lourdes University (2-2, 1-1) on Saturday (Nov.18) at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse. The Gray Wolves defeated the Wolverines 76-61.
Maya Barakat led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Barakat added 11 rebounds to secure her second double-double of the season. Morgan Miller chipped in 14 points as she connected on four triples to pace the Wolverines from deep. Despite shooting 42.4% from the floor, the Wolverines were plagued by turnovers as the Gray Wolves scored 22 out of 19 turnovers compared to six points off of eight Gray Wolves turnovers.
The Gray Wolves did some damage in the paint as they outscored the Wolverines 50-30 and outrebounded UM-Dearborn 40–35.
The Wolverines are back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 21) against Lawrence Tech before an extended layoff for Thanksgiving break. Tip-off is set for 5 pm.
