DEARBORN, Mich. -- Nolan Kelley bagged his 100th career goal for the University of Michigan-Dearborn lacrosse team on Wednesday (Apr. 10). Kelley hit the century mark early in the first quarter to give the Wolverines a 3-2 lead. Unfortunately, the Wolverines dropped the contest 12-6 against the Madonna Crusaders, who improved to 3-3 in WHAC play, while the Wolverines fell to 2-3.

The Wolverines looked prepped and ready to go as they honored the late Rob Kavovit in their third-annual 15 for Life game. UM-Dearborn scored an early goal from the stick of Mason Loudermilk, who took the Kelley pass and ripped it past the netminder at the 13:06 mark. Madonna scored two unanswered goals before the Wolverines responded with three. Braxton Kern started the scoring at 6:02 when Kelley assisted his second goal of the day. Kelley made it 3-2 with his 100th career goal, and Brodie Mahmud ended the scoring with 10 seconds to play in the quarter to make it 4-2. Madonna beat the buzzer to end the first quarter 4-3.

The Crusaders flipped a switch in the second quarter, outscoring the Wolverines 5-0 and taking an 8-4 lead going into the break. UM-Dearborn scored the lone goal in the third when Quest Bigelow found the back of the net. Madonna would put the game out of reach in the fourth, scoring four unanswered goals. Kelley scored his second of the day at 2:25 to play and finish the game in a 12-6 final.

The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday (Apr. 13) for senior day against the Concordia University Cardinals. The contest is slated to start at 2 pm.
