Guobis Records First Hole-In-One in Program History, Jumps 10 Spots on Final Day of WHAC Championships

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The final round of the WHAC Championships saw history made for the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's golf team. On the par-3 13th, sophomore Kristen Guobis pulled out her 8-iron and put her sights on the flag 145 yards away. What would happen next would be the reason behind Guobis's name forever being etched into the Wolverine record books. Guobis clipped her tee shot clean, and spectators watched as the ball bounced on the green and maneuvered into the bottom of the cup, the first hole-in-one in UM-Dearborn golf history.

The Wolverines dropped one spot on the day, finishing the tournament in 10th place, two shots back of the Concordia Cardinals. Guobis jumped 10 spots on the leaderboard after leading the Wolverines with a final round 78. Guobis finished in a two-way tie for 17th.

Megan Rogers took 42nd after carding an 89, Danielle Gonser and Cadence Pero shot 96s, while Andi Evers shot a 94 to wrap up the day for the Wolverines.
